 Registrations for the 2012/13 season will open late July. Please check the registration update later in the year if you wish to join.
The Gordon District Junior Cricket Club fields teams from Under 9s to Under 16/17s in the local NSJCA competition. A fair go and participation for all players are the cornerstones of the club. We take boys and girls of all abilities and we make sure they have fun while improving their skills during the season. Teams usually form on friendship basis but the club will always help players find a team that suits them. Just ask us. Our players - particularly in the younger age groups - usually come from Chatswood, Willoughby, Artarmon, Castlecrag, Castle Cove and Middle Cove. However, anyone can join our club no matter where they live. Everyone is welcome. Once settled, it's up to the managers to decided which division they think best suits their team. If you think you have a potentially strong group of players, select division one. Last year, the season started on Saturday, September 15, 2012, for Under 10s to Under 16/17s. The Under 9s season started October 13, which is also round three for older age groups. The NSJCA calendar can be viewed at www.nsjca.asn.au. See also our Key Dates tab on this site. Competitions run on Saturday mornings, Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings depending on the age group and team numbers. The NSJCA set the competition format for last season season. It was: The above allowed some age groups to chose a competition. For example, the Under 12 teams could either play in the Saturday AM competition or the Saturday PM competition. Fixtures are determined by the NSJCA and can be viewed at www.nsjca.asn.au. Which Age Group? As a guide to your age group, this is determined by how old you are on August 31, 2013. For example, if you are 12 years old on August 31, 2013, then you play in the Under 13 age group for the 2013/14 season. Players wishing to play down an age group must request special permission from the NSJCA via Gordon Juniors. However, if you feel that a 'girls only' competition would suit better, there are two: FeesRegistration fee for 2013/14 season are yet to be set but there is always a $20 discount for siblings. Club caps, hats and shirts can also be purchased as part of the registration. Each player must wear a Gordon cricket shirt (price TBA) and either a Club cap or hat (price TBA). You can order shirts, caps and hats by clicking on the Junior Payment Registration Form and shopping online. Once you've made your purchase you must co-ordinate collection with your manager.
