Reds Win Grand Final
Thrilling End to Season for U10s
Roseville won the toss and elected to bat at Chatswood High School. Was a solid opening partnership by them, with Gordon fielding well. A one handed caught and bowled may have been the turning point in the game with Gordon then finding another gear, producing tight bowling and sharp fielding. A few run outs being the reward for effort. A solid effort restricting them to 66 runs and the taking of 5 wickets.
Gordon started off a bit shaky loosing some early wickets in the top 4 batsmen. However, a consolidation in the middle order and a display of fine batting and running by the lower order, powered Gordon to what seemed a winning score. However, the loss of more wickets than their counterparts could have proved to be costly. Nine wickets were lost in the chase!
However, once the scores were tallied, 118 runs were scored by Gordon before the addition of the bonus wicket runs. An impressive 9/138 to 5/102 win for the Gordon Reds. It was always a much closer game than the final score shows. A great game of cricket by both sides and an enjoyable game to watch for all.
