Managers

We thank you all for taking the time to manage your teams this season. As manager, you have several duties to perform which include:
• Liaising with your Registrar/Age Co-ordinator.
• Attending the NSJCA managers’ information evening (see KEY DATES)
• Making sure your teams have the required number of umpires and scorers (see our articles below).
• Monitoring the GDJCC and NSJCA websites for news and changes.
• Maintain the kit.
• Printing a copy of the NSJCA Blue Book and keeping it with your kit.
• Making sure all players are registered in MyCricket.
• Selecting teams each week in MyCricket.
• Promptly filling out results on MyCricket (except U9s)
• Ensuring match reports and photos of games are sent to the Webmaster at webmaster@gordoncricket.com
• Writing a short end of season summary for your team for the Gordon Cricket Club annual report.
• Alerting your players to NSJCA Rep Trials.

Finally, remember to make the season fun for the kids. It is only a game, after all!

Have you always yearned to know more about coaching but didn’t know where to start?

Well, here’s your chance – Level 1 coaching courses!

The NSJCA is running two Level 1 coaching courses for those interested in beginning or improving their coaching.


Course 1

Venue: Club Willoughby – Crabbes Avenue, Willoughby.
Date: Sunday August, 28, 2011 

Time: 9am to 5pm

Presenter: Steve Mulally - 0425 297 703. Special guest Nathan Wadds

Cost: Covered by the association for NSJCA players.
Dress: Comfortable clothing such as shorts, tracksuit, trainers.
Age: Minimum age is 16 years

The NSJCA has cancelled the pre-season managers and coaches information evening. Clubs have been asked to pass on the season information and rule changes.

It is therefore vital you attend our Back to Cricket Day on September 4 for a briefing. Please see Back to Cricket Day in News for more information.

Scorers Workshops

Learning how to be a scorer is made easy thanks to the NSJCA.

Each team must have at least one scorer but Gordon Juniors recommends each team have two.

There are two workshops to teach you the fine art of scoring.

Workshop 1
September 15, 2011, starting at 6.30pm.
It will be held at St Alban's Church Hall, which is on the corner of Lindfield Avenue and Tryon Road, Lindfield.

Umpires Course

Umpires Course

Dates have been released for the official umpiring course.

Every team must have qualified umpires. Teams could be penalised competition points if they do not have at least two qualified umpires by Round 4.

Course details

September 20, 2011, starting at 7pm
Cost is $20 per person, which will be reimbursed by Gordon Juniors.
It will be held at St Alban's Church Hall, which is on the corner of Lindfield Avenue and Tryon Road, Lindfield.
