Please read on for more details. The Milo in2Cricket program is a fun and exciting way for younger children to get their first taste of cricket. The Gordon Juniors Cricket Club runs an excellent in2Cricket centre at Beauchamp Park every Saturday morning during the season.
The program's aim is for boys and girls aged 5 to 7 years to have fun while learning the basic skills of the game. We want children to start a lifelong love of cricket through our enjoyable program. We also find children benefit greatly from in2Cricket when they eventually step up to Under 9s. Registrations are still open. Online form available at bottom of page. If you have already filled in the registration form but missed the online payment process. The payment form is available at the bottom of the page.
We want all players to have the opportunity to participate, learn as much as possible about how to play the great game of cricket and, most importantly, to have fun while doing it. Cricket is more than just a game, it's a way of life!
The in2Cricket program is parent run and designed to identify and develop not just future players but also administrators and support staff to run the game in the future.
Program Details1. The program runs over 15 Saturday mornings at Beauchamp Park, Nicholson St, Chatswood from Saturday 15 October until Saturday 10 December 2010 and following the school holidays, from Saturday 28 January until Saturday 3 March 2012.
2. Each session lasts 90 minutes from 8 - 9.30am on the above Saturday mornings.
3. The players are divided into 'teams'. They practise their cricketing skills during the first part of the session and, following a drinks break, play a modified game during the second half of the session. We always end with the Junior club song.
4. There are stations set up for batting, bowling, fielding and ball skills. Each team spends time at each location before moving on to the next station. While the emphasis is on having fun, the players are importantly improving their respective cricket skills in a safe and secure environment under the supervision of competent coaches and parents.
5. All equipment is provided. The normal school footwear should be worn with a hat and sunscreen for protection from the sun plus the special in2Cricket Centre shirt and pants which must be purchased. A drink at the mid session break is advisable.
6. As all communication will be conducted by email. It is important that each family provides an active email address which should be regularly checked for messages. A regular electronic newsletter will be circulated with useful information and pertinent cricketing news.
