Back to Cricket Day Big Hit |
Keeper stars at Gordon Juniors Season OpenerHundreds of cricket fans turned out in the sunshine to mark the launch of the Gordon Juniors cricket season on Sunday. NSW wicketkeeper Peter Nevill was the star attraction at the club's successful Back to Cricket Day where fun was the name of the game. Watched by eager young cricketers, Peter gave a batting master class, signed autographs and helped with the fast bowling speed gun competition. As well as meeting the star keeper, Gordon Junior players, their siblings and parents enjoyed backyard cricket on Beauchamp Oval. The major prized - a Kookaburra bat signed by Brad Haddin - was won by U13 player Daniel Alleyn.
After such a wonderful day, it's time for teams to start training for the start of the season on September 15.
Our thanks to Peter and Michael Procajlo from Cricket NSW and Kingsgrove Sports Artarmon for their support.
