Around the Grounds - Round 15

Outstanding Gordon Juniors Shine

Three pieces of outstanding skill, great determination and a never say die attitude were all on display in another fantastic round of cricket for the Gordon Juniors.

U12 Green's Raymond Su was pure class in his innings of 73

In the U16/17's, Ryan Ludowyke put in a man of the match performance as our Reds got home in a last over thriller. The Reds managed just 132 when they batted first with Ludowyke top scoring with 25. Defending a low total, the Red bowlers got stuck in - taking the last five Mosman wickets for just one run! Mosman collapsed from 5 for 130 to be all out for 131! Ludowyke took four wickets and Will Calov, two to clean up the tail. The U16/17 Reds are top of the table.

Also in the same competition, Alex Vaughn was man of the match top scoring and taking four wickets. Vaughn finished with 4 for 12 from 5.5 overs. Set 132 to win, Vaughn got the Gold off to a flying start with the bat with 49 runs. But the other batsman failed to make the most of the start and Gold fell just 12 runs short of victory.

U9 Red Rory Chitty is all eyes as he gets set to smash another boundary

U12
Rampaging Raymond Su smashed 73 runs in an outstanding innings for the U12 Greens.
The NSJCA rep player mixed aggression with maturity as he built his impressive score. Raymond’s top knock helped his Green teammates to a total of 154. (See Match Report for details).
Also in the U12s there was a good win for the Reds and a defeat for the talented Blues.
The Reds showed great team spirit as every player contributed to a big win. (See Match Report for details). Tom Hampson top scored with 30, retired not out, while six bowlers all took wickets.
Kieran Dean top scored for the Blues with 36 not out against a strong Roseville side. But defending 115 proved too difficult for the Blues.

U14/15
In the U14/15 competition, the Gordon Black team made light work of Lindfield. Set 119 to win, the Black batsmen got home without losing a wicket. Harry Wallace, 31, Jake Veale, 27, James Suttor, 29 and Dan Clarke, 14, weren’t troubled as they steered their side to a victory that keeps them in second place on the table.

U14
In the U14s, our Blues failed to chase down 87 for victory going down to St Pius.

U9
In the younger ages, our U9s continue to grow and shine. The high flying Reds notched up another victory with a great performance against Lindfield. The Reds had lost just one game all season – and that was by one run. The Greens had a good win and the Whites did very well against a side coached by Stuart MacGill (See Match Report for details).

U10
In the 10s, our Red team were chasing 97 for victory. The team got close but fell 16 runs short. Mac North and Matthew Di Ciano both top scored with 9 runs each. Earlier, Mac North picked up two wickets with the ball.

U13
In the U13s, our Reds went close in low scoring nail biter. Batting first the Reds could only manage to score 70. But the Red bowlers fought back and at one stage had St Ives reeling at 8 for 68. In the end, St Ives got home with just two balls to spare! (See Match Report for details).

U11
Our U11 Reds won on forfeit.
